With the recent development of the land surrounding the Synagogue, the Synagogue now forms part of a vibrant Jewish community campus that is unique to South Africa.
It incorporates the Holocaust Center www.ctholocaust.co.za, South African Jewish Museum www.sajewishmuseum.co.za , Albow Centre, Nelson Mandela Auditorium, Jacob Gitlin library, Israel Abrahams Hall, Café Riteve www.norriecaterers.co.za/cafe.php and the Samson Centre - which houses the offices of the various communal bodies and organizations.
Since its development the community campus has become the epicenter of Jewish communal life in Cape Town and has brought back a new spirit to the area where it all began.
The ‘hop on hop off’ red bus popular amongst tourists visiting Cape Town has a stop right outside the entrance to the campus.
